Tata Motors, a homegrown carmaker, launched the Nexon Red Dark Edition in India at an introductory price of Rs 12.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Aside from the Nexon, the automaker launched the other much-awaited siblings - the Harrier and the Safari in our market. The prices of the Safari and the Harrier SUVs start at Rs 22.61 lakh and Rs 21.77 lakh, respectively. Mechanically speaking, the Tata Nexon Red Dark Edition offers petrol (Rs 12.35 lakh) and diesel (Rs 13.70 lakh) options. All these are ex-showroom and introductory prices. A 1.5-litre diesel setup, produces 108bhp and 260Nm, whereas the other 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, generates 118bhp and 170Nm. For transmission, a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT gearbox are available as choices. Tata Motors has modified the diesel engine to conform to the upcoming emission standards of BS6 Phase-2 norms. The motor is now RDE and E-20 compliant.

Outside, the Nexon Red Dark Edition has an Oberon Black colour scheme with red accents on the front grille. The crimson 'DARK' badging on the SUV's front fenders is also visible. It now has 16-inch alloy wheels with diamond cuts that are painted charcoal black. Further, it sports red brake calipers. All these features aid the Tata Nexon Red Dark Edition to mark distinction from the base Dark version.
Talking of the interior, leatherette seats with diamond-quilted patterns are found in the cabin. The cabin carries forward the red colour scheme, available with the standard model. There are a few red details on the steering wheel, centre console, and door grab handles to match the overall cabin theme. Feature-wise, the SUV includes a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, and an air purifier.

The safety kit of the Tata Nexon comprises seat belt warnings, airbags, over-speed alerts, speed-sensing door locks, an anti-theft engine immobiliser, and more. Moreover, it comes with a five-star Global NCAP rating. The Red Dark Edition of the SUVs comes with a 3-year/1,000,000 km warranty as standard from Tata Motors.
