A year since the launch of the Nexon EV, Tata has successfully managed to sell nearly 3,000 units of the car making it the best-selling EV in India. The Nexon EV is priced starting Rs 13.99 lakh
Tata really seem to have hit a home run with the Nexon EV. As the car celebrates its first anniversary this week, the company has successfully sold nearly 3,000 units across the country. The Nexon EV crossed the 1000 units milestone within seven months of its launch in August. The electric compact SUV took just four months to get to the next 1000 units.
Speaking on the occasion, Shailesh Chandra – President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “In a short span of time, the Nexon EV has been widely accepted by the customers, enthusiasts and the industry. We are truly touched to see our customers openly sharing their experiences with family and friends, which is also helping in breaking myths and addressing barriers to EV adoption.”
One of the key aspects for the success of the Nexon EV is undoubtedly its price. Sure, it is priced considerably higher than the conventional internal combustion variants, the Nexon EV is still considerably more affordable than the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona. The 8 year / 1.6 lakh kilometre warranty on the car also brings with it a certain peace of mind. Tata claims that the Nexon EV has a driving range of 312km in a single full charge, and it can be charged up to 80% in just 60 minutes using a fast charger.
Working in union with Tata Power, the company has the largest network of CCS2 fast chargers across the country. So far, Tata has setup more than 300 charging stations across 26 cities, and the company is planning to scale this up to 700 stations by March 2021.
