Tata Nexon EV Max Dark Edition Launched in India at Rs 19.04 Lakh

Prices of the Tata Nexon EV Max Dark edition start at Rs 19.04 lakh for the XZ+ Lux variant (without a charger) and go up to Rs 19.54 lakh for the XZ+ Lux variant (7.2kW AC fast charger). Prices are ex-showroom.

Tata Motors has launched the Dark Edition of the Nexon EV Max for the Indian market. The company offers the Dark Edition only on the top-of-the-line XZ+ Lux trim of the Nexon EV Max, with and without a 7.2kW AC fast charger. Prices of the Dark edition start at Rs 19.04 lakh for the XZ+ Lux variant (without a charger) and go up to Rs 19.54 lakh for the XZ+ Lux variant (with a charger). Prices are ex-showroom. As was anticipated, the Nexon EV Max Dark Edition comes equipped with a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, making it the first SUV in the Nexon lineup to get the 10.25-inch touchscreen. Along with it, the electric vehicle offers a number of additional features. It is packed with a 40.5kWh battery pack that offers an ARAI-claimed driving range of 453 kilometres on a single charge. Other than that, it also is available with three driving modes- City, Eco, and Sport, in addition to four multi-mode regenerative levels.

On the outside, the Dark Edition receives a Midnight Black paintwork with Satin Grey highlights. It has '#Dark' emblems on the front fender and rides on 16-inch alloy wheels that are finished in Charcoal Grey. The side belt line, humanity line, and rear X insignia also come in black. Besides, the car features projector headlamps with tri-arrow DRLs, tri-arrow signature LED taillights, shark fin antenna, and roof rails.

Furthermore, the foglamp surrounds at both ends, lower tri-arrow pattern grille, and EV badging are done in signature electric blue accents, emphasising the electric nature of the vehicle.  

Tata Nexon EV Max Dark Edition: Interior & Features

The Nexon EV Max Dark Edition comes with an all-black interior with a piano-black dashboard, tri-arrow elements, and jewelled control knob. It also gets black-themed leatherette upholstery with black seats finished in blue stitching. The use of leather is also extended to its steering wheel, which also gets blue stitching highlights.

On the feature front, the SUV sports a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system above the AC vents. The touchscreen is compatible with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and appears similar to the one used in the Harrier and the Safari Red Dark Editions. The Nexon EV Max Dark has an electric sunroof, wireless charging, ventillated front seats, an air purifier with AQI display, an integrated voice assistant, 180+ voice commands, a reverse camera, a special EV display theme, and more. 

Other notable features include a 7.0-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, electronic parking brake with auto hold, 2 airbags, auto-dimming IRVM, smart key with push button, electrically operated ORVMs, 4 speakers + 4 tweeters, automatic temperature control, cruise control, a cooled glovebox, defogger, rear AC vents, rear wiper washer, rain-sensing wipers, etc.

Tata Nexon EV Max Dark Edition: Powertrain, Battery

In terms of the powertrain, the new dark edition draws power from an electric motor putting out 141bhp of maximum power and 250Nm of peak torque, sending power to the front wheels. The electric SUV can accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h in just 9 seconds. In addition, it is equipped with a 40.5kWh battery pack that delivers an ARAI-claimed driving range of 453 kilometres on a single charge. The car can be charged using a 7.2kW Home AC Fast wall box charger, a 3.3kW Home AC wall box charger, a 50kW DC fast charger, or a 15A plug point. 

Tata Nexon EV Max Dark Edition: Price, Rivals

The new Tata Nexon EV Max Dark Edition retails at a starting price of Rs 19.04 lakh (ex-showroom). It takes on the Mahindra XUV400 electric, which ranges from Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The recently launched XUV400 has a maximum power output of 147.5bhp and a peak torque of 310Nm. It can reach a top speed of 150km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.3 seconds.
