The Tata Nexon EV range, including the 45kWh models, now fully meets the Bharat NCAP's top safety standards. The electrified SUV holds impressive scores in both Adult and Child Occupant Protection.
The Tata Nexon EV, equipped with a larger 45kWh battery and offered in Creative, Fearless, Empowered, and Empowered+ variants, has received a 5-Star safety rating from Bharat NCAP. This acknowledgment confirms that every Nexon.ev model adheres to the highest BNCAP safety requirements, maintaining the same impressive scores as when the Nexon EV was first tested in June last year. Notably, the Nexon EV 45kWh version is also offered in a distinctive Red #Dark Edition, exclusive to the top-of-the-line Empowered+ variant. This special edition with notable cosmetic upgrades commands a premium of 20,000 over the regular version. Here's a breakdown of the BNCAP scores of the Nexon EV.
The electrified SUV performed remarkably across the Adult and Child Occupant protection in the Bharat NCAP crash tests conducted in June 2024. It scored 29.86 out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, with 14.26 out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and 15.60 out of 16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test.

It's worth noting that the most recent Bharat NCAP rating is valid for units produced from March 2025 onwards. Previously, only the 30kWh and now-discontinued 40.5kWh versions had been tested and rated. Now, the larger capacity 45kWh Long Range (LR) variants have been officially certified with a 5-star safety rating.
