Tata Motors has expanded its Nexon lineup with the launch of the Nexon CNG Red Dark Edition, priced at Rs 12.70 lakh (starting, ex-showroom) in India. This new variant combines the efficiency of CNG with the bold aesthetics of Tata’s Red Dark theme, making it a compelling option in the compact SUV segment. Designed for eco-conscious drivers seeking a blend of style and practicality, the Nexon CNG Red Dark features striking exterior updates, including red accents, a dark-themed finish, and premium interior enhancements. Powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with CNG compatibility, the SUV offers impressive mileage while maintaining Tata's signature performance. With this launch, Tata Motors aims to strengthen its foothold in the growing CNG vehicle market.
Tata Nexon CNG Red Dark Edition: Variants and Powertrain
In September 2024, Tata Motors introduced the Nexon iCNG with a starting price of Rs 8.99 lakh. Building on its success, the automaker has now rolled out the Nexon iCNG Red Dark Edition, a special variant available in three trims: Creative + S, Creative + PS, and Fearless + PS, priced between Rs 12.70 lakh and Rs 14.50 lakh. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.
The Nexon iCNG Red Dark Edition’s Creative + S and Creative + PS trims cost Rs 40,000 more than their standard versions, while the Fearless + PS trim is priced Rs 20,000 higher than its regular counterpart.

Speaking of the engine, this edition is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit that produces 99bhp of maximum power and includes direct CNG start technology, making it the first turbocharged CNG model in our market. This special edition, like the standard variants, is paired exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Nexon CNG Red Dark Edition: Exterior and Interior
On the outside, the vehicle carries forward the signature design language of Tata’s Dark Edition lineup, featuring a bold carbon black paint finish with red accents on the wheels, adding a sporty and dynamic flair.

The cabin sees a refined touch with Red leatherette upholstery, striking Red stitching, and glossy Piano Black details. Features-wise, the popular SUV comes loaded with a large 10.2-inch infotainment display, a 360-degree camera, a digital instrument panel, an eight-speaker JBL audio system, smartphone connectivity through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof. Additional highlights include a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, hill-hold control, steering-mounted controls, ISOFIX child seat mounts, reverse parking sensors, rear AC vents, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a rear power outlet, engine start/stop button, and an air purifier. All these amenities and safety elements ensure a smooth and secure driving experience.
