Tata Motors will launch the country's most affordable automatic transmission car, the Nano GenX AMT, on May 19. Apart from having a 5-speed automatic gearbox, Tata has made the Nano a lot more practical car with a useable boot which offers 95-litres of space in the automatic variant and 110-litres in manual. The new model will be available in two new colours like Sangria Red and Persian Rose.
Nano continues to be powered by 37.5bhp, 624cc petrol engine, which develops 51Nm of torque. According to Tata Motors, the manual and AMT variants are expected to return 23.6 kmpl and 21.9 kmpl, respectively. The new Nano also comes with a bigger 24-litre fuel tank compared to the old 15-litre one.
The Nano gets a redesigned nose, bumpers, headlamps, new steering wheel from the Zest and a new instrument cluster. It now comes with features like two trip metres, instant and average fuel economy and distance to empty tank reading.
The bookings for the Nano GenX are open across the country and one can book it by paying Rs 5,000 as down payment. For existing Nano owners, Tata has launched a scheme called Power of 1+1 programme, where the customers will get the best exchange rate for their old Nano along with a special bonus of Rs 20,000 and a referral cash prize of Rs. 5,000 for every referral.
