Bookings for the Tata Hexa have started ahead of the car’s launch in January 2017.
Tata dealerships have commenced booking for the upcoming Tata Hexa for an initial booking amount of Rs. 11,000. The Hexa will be launched in January 2017 which is when Tata will announce the official price of the car. deliveries of the vehicle will also begin shortly after the launch.
The Hexa comes with a Varicor 320 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 150 bhp and 320Nm of torque which only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and is offered in the base XE variant. The XM variant gets a 2.2-litre Varicor 400 engine that produces on ly slightly more power – 156bhp, but 400 Nm of torque. But Tata does provide this version of the engine with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
The XT variant gets the same engine options as the XM, but the manual also gets a 4x4 option that enhances the cars off road ability. This version gets what Tata calls ‘Super Drive Modes’ which are basically driving modes which you can choose from – Auto, Comfort, Rough Road and Dynamic. The 6-speed automatic only gets rear-wheel drive, but gets a mode that Tata calls ‘Racecar mode’ which holds the engine revs in the power band, i.e. between 3,000-4,000 rpm, to deliver better performance on the road.
Among other features, the Hexa has a 6-speaker Harman surround sound system with JBL speakers, leather feel seats, maximum of 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Hill-Descent/Ascent control, automatic climate control, and will be offered with a 6 or 7 seating option on all variants and trims.
The Tata Hexa will compete against the Mahindra XUV500 and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
