Tata Harrier, Safari and More Get Dearer by up to Rs 25,000

Tata Motors has increased the prices of the Harrier, Safari, Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, and more. The Harrier and the Safari have received the biggest price hike of up to Rs 25,000. This is the brand's second price hike in 2023 after its first price revision in January.

As Tata Motors has lately upped the prices of its entire Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) passenger vehicle lineup by up to Rs 25,000, buyers may feel the pinch in their pockets. The automaker has increased the prices of the Harrier, the Safari, the Tiago, the Tiago NRG, the Tigor, the Punch, the Nexon, and more. Even the brand's CNG-powered vehicles are not spared to feel the brunt of its price revision. However, the prices of EVs remain untouched. This is the second price increase for the firm in 2023 after its first price revision in January. The decision to revise prices, as per the company, is due to rising input costs and regulatory changes. The new prices are in effect from February 1 this year.

According to Tata Motors, the weighted average increase in the prices of its models is 1.2 per cent, depending on the model and trim. Starting with the SUVs, the Harrier, and the Safari received the biggest price hike of up to Rs 25,000, followed by the Nexon with an increase of up to Rs 17,000. The base XE variant of Tata Harrier is now priced at Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Safari's XE variant now costs Rs 15.65 lakh (ex-showroom).

On the other hand, all variants of the Tata Punch remained least affected by the price revision, keeping the range of price hikes between Rs 3,000 and Rs 10,000. The prices of the Tiago and the Tigor, including their CNG variants, increased by up to Rs 15,000.

After the price revision, the Tiago petrol manual and the Tiago NRG variants start at Rs 5.54 lakh and Rs 6.62 lakh, respectively. The Tata Tiago NRG XZ CNG is the most-priced variant, now available at Rs 7.95 lakh. Likewise, the Tata Tigor petrol variants are now priced from Rs 6.20 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. Its Petrol-CNG variants start from Rs 7.60 lakh and go up to Rs 8.90 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

Having said that, the Tata Tiago EV has been recently launched at a starting price of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom). India's most affordable electric car comes in two versions – Medium Range and Long Range.

Furthermore, the company is expected to launch the Red Dark Editions of the Harrier and the Safari. The two SUVs are said to offer more than just visual upgrades. They will be up for sale by March 2023, as per the automaker.
