The facelifted Harrier SUV from Tata Motors finally arrived in the Indian market this month. It was launched alongside the redesigned premium Safari SUV. With the all-new Tata Harrier, the rivalry within the SUV segment has intensified as it takes on several other popular models like the Mahindra XUV700, the Jeep Compass, the MG Hector, and the Hyundai Alcazar. In addition, with increased demand for SUVs in India, the firm hopes to capture a sizable share of the market with the new and improved versions of both models. The 2023 Harrier has a diesel engine exclusively, but the other models in the competition are offered with petrol as well as diesel engines. Although a 1.5-litre GDI turbocharged petrol engine is being developed by Tata Motors to power the car, it is unlikely to be available anytime soon. Here's a detailed spec comparison between the new Harrier and one of its direct rivals, the Alcazar. Let's take a look at how they fare against each other in terms of performance, features, and other factors.

Based on the Creta, the Alcazar is not a completely new SUV. For this reason, the front-end design is the same. The Alcazar also has the same two-tier lighting console as the Creta. The SUV has a sizable rear overhang, which serves to provide room for the third row of seats. Along with the 18-inch wheels, the Alcazar also has chrome door handles and a shark fin antenna.
