Tata Motors will launch its flagship electric SUV – the Harrier EV – in the current financial year ending on March 31, 2025. Like the Punch EV, the electrified Harrier is built on Tata's acti.ev architecture. The new architecture, in combination with the Omega platform used by the internal combustion engine-powered Harrier, incorporates an all-wheel-drive setup and cabin modifications.

Tata offers no technical specifications; however, we expect the new Harrier electric SUV to come with multiple powertrain options, including a single-motor two-wheel drive setup. Recently spotted in India, the test mule of the Tata Harrier EV shows a rear axle-mounted electric motor, corroborating the claim that the upcoming Harrier EV will get an all-wheel drive option with electric motors – one on the front and another on the rear axle. As for its battery size, one can expect the SUV to come equipped with a 60kWh pack, yielding a range of 400 to 500 kilometres.

Tata Harrier EV: Design

The Tata Harrier EV is heavily camouflaged. Therefore, we cannot help but make assumptions based on market reports. Typical for an electric vehicle, the design changes will likely be limited to a blanked-off grille, reworked bumpers, flush door handles, new alloy wheels, and .ev badging on the fenders. But, what is confirmed is that the Tata Harrier EV will offer convenience features and technologies, such as vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V).
