The 'Frest' nameplate has been trademarked in India by Tata Motors, and the government recently approved the trademark one year after it was initially applied. The Tata Frest nametag will reportedly be used for "land vehicles and parts thereof," which suggests that a future passenger car would sport the new moniker. Despite the lack of information, probably, any of the Curvv concept-based SUVs that will be built in production may go by this moniker. The Curvv concept will eventually give rise to both an electric and an internal combustion engine (ICE) variant, the Indian carmaker has stated before. The Curvv-based EV will be on the market in 2024, while the ICE model with newly developed petrol engines will do so by 2025. Given how competitive the compact SUV market is, the coupe-SUV will be a unique body type and should provide the firm with an edge over its rivals.

The Curvv concept was almost ready for production, and the majority of the design elements displayed at the 2023 Auto Expo would be used in the final vehicle. This would undoubtedly make the production-spec model the most modern-looking SUV on the market, both inside Tata Motors' stable and in the compact SUV segment. It's unknown if the petrol or electric variant will carry the Tata Frest brand. The latter will use a Gen2 platform from the manufacturer and can travel up to 500 kilometre on a single charge. Given the rising popularity of alternative fuels, a CNG model may also be likely. It's worth noting that automakers frequently trademark many nameplates before settling on one. Further information on the Frest will be revealed in the coming months. Till then, let's delve deeper into the details regarding the Curvv concept.
Tata Curvv Concept: Exterior and Interior Details
The Curvv concept SUV has a coupe-like roofline, integrated DRLs, and triangular-shaped headlamps that give the EV a futuristic dimension. At the back of the Curvv electric SUV, there are connected tail lamps and a high-mounted stop lamp that wraps around the rear glass. The car's side is wrapped in wheel arch claddings, giving it an even more SUV-like look. The grooved design may be found on the front and rear bumpers, side skirtings, and alloy wheels. Tata claims that the Curvv EV's design improves both its aesthetics and aerodynamics.
The cabin of the Curvv electric SUV is fairly simple. The groove pattern continues on the dashboard and the flat bottom of the steering wheel. A single illuminated line goes across the dashboard. The Curvv's whole design is made up of lines and curves, as the name indicates. There is also a big panoramic sunroof that fits in with the rear spoiler.

Tata Curvv Concept: Features and Powertrain
The Tata Curvv will offer two different powertrain options under the hood: a turbo-petrol engine and an electric motor. The 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines will be the first two turbo-petrol engine options available for the Curvv. The model will eventually have an electric drivetrain available for purchase as well. It will utilise the generation 2 EV architecture from the company, which it says can support a variety of body types and engine combinations. Additionally, the vehicle will enable vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging. On a single charge, the brand-new car is predicted to have a driving range of up to 500 kilometre. The new chassis will also be able to handle an all-wheel-drive configuration besides this.
The Curvv will be a feature-rich vehicle, similar to previous offerings from Tata Motors. Like the Mahindra XUV700, it will include motorised door handles. A 360-degree parking camera, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), six or more airbags, different passive safety devices, a massive touchscreen of up to ten inches, a panoramic sunroof, and other features are all expected to be on the feature list.
