Tata Motors is expected to introduce its much-awaited Curvv in India soon. The SUV's electric version will go on sale first, followed by the ICE variant. However, before these anticipated car launches, the carmaker is frequently sharing teasers on its social media to give customers an idea about what's to come. The most recent trailers show test mules of the ICE and electric Curvv undergoing extensive testing in Thar Desert, Jaisalmer, under scorching 50 °C, and the hilly Leh, Ladakh, at temperatures ranging from -20°C to 30 °C. Though both variants of the Curvv were completely camouflaged, their sloping roofline, flush door handles, and alloy wheels can still be seen. There's not much information about the interior, but a small glimpse indicates some features borrowed from the Tata Nexon. Continue reading for more information about the upcoming Tata model.
Tata Curvv: What’s More?
The fully digital driver's display, possibly a 10.25-inch screen, borrowed from the Nexon EV, is partially visible in the teaser. It shows the lane-keep assist function, suggesting that the Curvv may get an advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) package. Other significant features shown in the video include three driving modes (Eco, City, and Sport), paddle shifters, and a drive mode selector.

Aside from this, the Curvv is expected to sport a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless technologies for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a JBL sound system with a subwoofer, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger. It could include Six airbags, an automated parking brake, and a 360-degree camera, among other safety features.
Tata Curvv: Powertrain
Tata Motors is yet to confirm the powertrain specs of the Curvv EV and its ICE counterpart, but industry reports indicate that the former will come with an option between two battery packs with an estimated range of roughly 500 kilometres. It will be built on the Acti.ev platform. The latter, on the other hand, is expected to be available with two engine options: the well-known 1.5-litre diesel engine from Nexon (114bhp/260Nm) and a new 1.2-litre T-GDi turbo-petrol (123bhp/225Nm). A dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) and a 6-speed manual gearbox could be potential gearbox choices.

In contrast, the latter will face off against vehicles such as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta.
