Tata Motors recently announced its plans to launch its first mass-market Curvv SUV coupe on August 7 in India. Now, it has dropped a video revealing the vehicle's official unveiling date – July 19. At the moment, we do not know whether the company will announce the prices of both electric and ICE (internal combustion engine) versions on the same day. But, expect the Curvv EV to go on sale first, with prices starting at about Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Before that takes place, select Tata dealerships in some Indian cities have reportedly started accepting bookings for the Curvv EV, which will begin reaching dealerships by the end of July. The unofficial booking amount of the EV is set at Rs 21,000. Judging from multiple teasers and spy shots, the Curvv is likely to borrow some of the design elements from other Tata vehicles, such as a split headlamp setup, connected DRLs, flush door handles, a coupe-esque silhouette, wraparound L-shaped LED tail lamps, a shark-fin antenna, and alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the Curvv EV will have a blanked-off grille, typical for an electric vehicle. It could also sport different-looking bumpers and LED light signatures to distinguish itself from the ICE Curvv.

Tata Curvv: Features, Safety Kit
The interior of the Tata Curvv is expected to closely resemble that of the 2024 Nexon. It is expected to feature a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.5-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car tech, ventillated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, and wireless phone charging. One can also expect a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata emblem.
The safety kit may include a 360-degree camera, six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), three-point seatbelts for all, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) suite with autonomous braking and lane keep assist.
Tata Curvv: Powertrain
Under the hood, the ICE Tata Curvv will most likely receive the same engine options as the Nexon: a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 118bhp and 170Nm and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine with 113bhp and 260Nm. Expected transmission options are a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT, and a 7-speed DCT.
On the other hand, the Curvv EV, based on Tata's Gen 2 acti.ev architecture, is expected to be offered with two powertrain options and a claimed range of 450 – 500km on a single charge. A CNG option is also expected in the future.
Tata Curvv: Price
Price-wise, the ICE Curvv could fall between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 11 lakh, whereas the EV may retail for Rs 20 lakh. The prices are ex-showroom. Upon launch, both versions of the Tata Curvv will join the other mid-size SUVs in their respective segments and rival the likes of the Volkswagen Taigun, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG ZS EV, and the Hyundai Kona Electric.
