Tata Curvv India Launch on September 2, is Based on New ATLAS Platform
The ICE Curvv sits on Tata's new vehicle architecture called ATLAS (Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture), which debuted alongside the Curvv EV today.
Tata Motors just launched the Curvv EV in India. Available in five variants: Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, Empowered+, and Empowered+ A, the EV is priced from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). Aside from this, Tata revealed the interior and powertrain details of the internal combustion powered-Curvv Coupe SUV. The price announcement will take place on September 2, 2024.
We are all well-acquainted with the Curvv's design. While it borrows design cues from the Nexon it is based on, the Curvv has a sloping roofline, setting it apart from rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Honda Elevate. The SUV Coupe also gets a segment-first powered tailgate, while the flush door handles are a first for a Tata model. Much like the exterior, the interior of the Tata Curvv closely resembles the Nexon, except for a dual-tone burgundy-and-black theme as well as a four-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Harrier.

Tata Curvv: Features
Features-wise, the Curvv packs a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a digital instrument cluster for the driver. Other notable bits include a panoramic sunroof, ventillated front seats, a reclining rear seat, a 9-speaker sound system, and a wireless phone charger.
Tata Curvv: Safety Gear
In terms of safety, the car is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, parking sensors (both front and rear), a tyre pressure monitor, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, and Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems).
Tata Curvv: Engine
The ICE (internal combustion engine) Curvv sits on Tata's new vehicle architecture called ATLAS (Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture), which debuted alongside the Curvv EV. The platform supports multiple engine options, including two turbo-petrol and a diesel engine. Tata says this new platform will underpin its future SUVs and cars.
Under the hood, the Tata Curvv gets three engine options – 1.2-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol (Hyperion), 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (Revotron), and 1.5-litre diesel. The last two are already available with the Nexon. The new Hyperion makes 123bhp at 5,000rpm and 225Nm of peak torque between 1,700rpm and 3,500rpm. That is 5bhp and 55Nm more than what the Revotron generates. All three engines are mated to a 6-speed manual (standard) and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Tata Curvv: Variants, Rivals
The Tata Curvv comes in four broad variants: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished. While the pricing will be revealed on the said date, the ICE Curvv could range between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 11 lakh. The prices are ex-showroom.
