The Tata Curvv EV is finally on sale on the Indian market. After the Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev, the Curvv.ev is Tata Motors' fifth electric model. Moreover, it is the second Tata electric vehicle, following the Punch.ev, to be built on the new, advanced pure EV architecture, acti.ev. It features 190mm of ground clearance, 500 litres of cargo space, and a 450mm water-wading depth capability. The Tata car locks horns with several competitors including the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, and the Hyundai Kona Electric. Tata Curvv EV vs Mahindra XUV400 Spec Comparison: Price
The electrified SUV Coupe is priced between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh (both, ex-showroom). It is available in five variants: Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, Empowered+, and Empowered+ A.
Available in five variants, the price of the Mahindra XUV400's standard EC variant starts at Rs 15.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.69 lakh. Meanwhile, the EL versions cost between Rs 19.19 lakh and Rs 19.39 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom figures.
Tata Curvv EV vs Mahindra XUV400 Spec Comparison: Battery Pack and Range
As mentioned, the Curvv EV is based on the Acti.ev platform. It comes with two battery pack options: a 45kWh with a stated range of 502 km and a 55kWh with a claimed range of 585 km. These units have an estimated range of 350 and 425 km in real-world conditions, respectively. The EV possesses a maximum speed of 160km/h. It has a 123kWh motor that can go from 0 to 100km/h in 8.6 seconds. The car benefits from a 1.2C charging rate, allowing it to reach 150 km in approximately 15 minutes. The Tata EV also has vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capabilities.
On the other hand, a single electric motor with a peak output of 310Nm and 150bhp powers the Mahindra XUV400. With this engine, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.3 seconds while attaining a top speed of 150km/h. A 34.5kWh battery pack and a 39.4kWh unit are the two battery options for the EC. The EL's MIDC range is 456 km, compared to the EC's 375 km. The XUV400 can be charged with a 3.3kW or 7.2kW charger. The 7.2kW charger takes 6.5 hours to completely charge the battery (39.4kWh), whereas the 3.3kW charger takes 13 hours. A DC fast charger can charge a battery from 0% to 80% in less than 50 minutes. The car may also be powered via a 16A home outlet.

The electric Curvv's interior features a 4-spoke steering wheel (borrowed from the Harrier-Safari), a dual-tone dashboard, front ventilated seats, a 12.3-inch free-floating infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, an air purifier, ambient lighting, a touch-enabled AC panel, an electronic parking brake, an acoustic sound system, a wireless phone charger, and a drive mode selector.
On the feature front, the new Mahindra XUV400 boasts a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Alexa connectivity, wireless phone connectivity, a new steering wheel, an auto-dimming IRVM, a 10.25-inch fully digital colour instrument console, dual-tone interior theme, a wireless charger, cruise control, rear AC vents, a reworked dashboard, and charging ports for the second row.

Tata Curvv EV vs Mahindra XUV400 Spec Comparison: Safety Features
The Curvv SUV is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ESP, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS, which includes 20 advanced functions such as forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist.
Safety-wise, the XUV400 comes with equipment like six airbags (driver, front passenger, two curtains, driver side, front passenger side), seat belt warning, child lock, anchor points for a child seat, overspeed warning, speed sensing door lock, flashing emergency brake light, and central locking.
