Tata Motors launched the Curvv EV, its much-anticipated first mass-market SUV coupe in India, on August 7 following a series of teasers. The electrified SUV Coupe is priced between Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh (both, ex-showroom). It is available in five variants: Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, Empowered+, and Empowered+ A. Tata Motors announced that reservations for the EV will begin on August 12. It also added that the Curvv ICE will go on sale in India on September 2, 2024. Now that the electrified Curvv is available in our market, let's explore some of its key features.

Tata Curvv EV: Powertrain
The Curvv EV has an Acti.ev platform and two battery options: 45kWh and 55kWh. It is propelled by a liquid-cooled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMS) that produces 165bhp in the 55kWh version and 148bhp in the 45kWh version. The torque of 215Nm is the same in both units. The smaller battery claims a range of 502 kilometres, whereas the larger battery boasts a range of 585 kilometres. In real-world settings, these units have an estimated range of 350 and 425 kilometres, respectively. The EV has a maximum speed of 160km/h. The Curvv EV supports 1.2C rapid charging rates, allowing you to top off the battery from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes with a DC charger of 70 kW or more. The manufacturer claims that only 15 minutes of charging allows for a range of up to 150 kilometres. The Tata EV also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) functionality.
Tata Curvv EV: Other Features
The Curvv EV has a coupe-like silhouette, a closed-off grille, connected LED DRLs with greeting and farewell animations, flush-fitted door handles (first introduced by Tata), and 18-inch alloy wheels with aero inserts. It is equipped with a wireless charging pad, front-ventilated seats, a JBL sound system, and a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, among other features.
For safety, the car has electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) with features like lane-keep assist, high-beam assist, and adaptive cruise control.

Tata Curvv EV: Bookings and Rivals
The bookings for the EV will commence on August 12 for a nominal fee of Rs 11,000 for versions with 45kWh and Rs 21,000 for variants with 55kWh. Deliveries are expected to start towards the end of this month.
