After Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors has announced a price hike across its model range, including electric vehicles. Effective January 2025, the price increase will be restricted to 3 per cent and vary depending on the model and variant. The price adjustment comes on the back of increased commodity prices and rising inflation. Tata's range of ICE passenger vehicles includes the Tiago, Punch, Altroz, Tigor, Nexon, Curvv, and the Harrier, while the EV range consists of the Curvv EV, Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and the Punch EV. The latest addition to the EV lineup, the Curvv EV, made headlines with its launch in August 2024 in India. It has two battery options with a range of up to 585km, in addition to a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, front ventilated seats, JBL sound system, and all-wheel disc brakes.

Upcoming Tata EVs
Also, Tata is working toward expanding its EV portfolio and to that end, it plans to launch three more electric vehicles by FY2026. These are the Harrier EV, the Sierra EV, and the Avinya. The price of the Sierra EV will be announced in the second half of 2025, according to the latest update. Tata will offer the Sierra in both ICE (internal combustion engine) and electric versions. The electric version will debut first.
The Tata Sierra EV is expected to sit on Tata's acti.ev architecture that underpins the Curvv EV and the relatively old Punch EV. As for the ICE, Tata could use its all-new ATLAS (Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture) platform, the basis for the Curvv coupe-SUV. The platform supports multiple engine options, including two turbo-petrol and a diesel engine. Under the hood, the electric version will likely come with a single-motor arrangement, drawing power from 45kWh and 55kWh battery packs. Range and power outputs shall vary depending on the battery. They could go up to 550km on a single charge. Expect the electric vehicle to offer DC fast charging support. On the other hand, the ICE version should get a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. We also expect the Harrier-borrowed diesel powertrain to be offered.
Speaking of, the electric derivative of the Tata Harrier could be introduced by March 2025. It will be based on the ICE Harrier but will bring a few cosmetic updates. Expect it to have a large battery pack sending power to twin motors and a range of 400km–500km.

Coming to the last one, Tata will reportedly introduce the Avinya as a premium electric brand. Tata will launch multiple electric cars under the Avinya brand, the first of which is expected to be brought out by March 2026. Avinya models will be based on JLR's modular EMA architecture and built at Tata's new plant in Tamil Nadu.
