Images released on Tata Altroz’s official website reveal a few details about the exterior and interior. Tata is expected to launch this new premium hatchback in the near future.
Ever since Tata unveiled the 45X concept at the Auto Expo 2018, there has been a lot of anticipation about the premium hatchback that will be developed from it. Earlier this year, the company christened it as the Altroz. Tata claims that the buzz and excitement about the car has been so high that the company had to launch its website before schedule.
It has been a few days since the website has gone live and the company has already put up some detail images of the car to give us a sneak peek. The Altroz will come with large pulled back projector headlamps with a chrome accent, 10-spoke diamond cut alloy wheels, gloss black casing for ORVMs, turn indicators on the fenders, and a black roof. On the inside, the car will come with a dual-tone grey/black treatment and chrome surrounds for the air-con vents.
While there is no official word on specifications of the Altroz as yet, we expect it to come with two petrol and one diesel engine option. It is likely to get the same 1.2-litre petrol as the Tiago and a 1.5-litre diesel borrowed from the Nexon. Higher variants may also get the option of a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol. The naturally aspirated petrol motor will come paired with a 5-speed manual, while the turbo petrol and diesel will be mated to a 6-speed manual. Tata will also bring in an automatic option for the Altroz.
On its launch, the Tata Altroz will face some stiff competition from the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, and the newly launched Toyota Glanza. Expect the Altroz to be priced in the Rs 5-9 lakh range.
