It's confirmed! Tata's latest teaser video of the upcoming Altroz premium hatchback confirms the car's launch for January 2020.
Tata has not shied away from releasing numerous glimpses & teasers of its upcoming premium hatchback, the Altroz. Ever since the homegrown carmaker announced the name back in February 2019, it claims the customer response has been overwhelming and that has led them to reveal the car's visual teasers much ahead of schedule. June was also an eventful month on this front, as we caught an Altroz prototype testing just a few days after Tata launched its official microsite.
Now though, the latest teaser video released by Tata confirms a January 2020 launch of the Altroz. While we do not have any confirmed details about the car's powertrain options yet, it is likely that the Altroz will come with three engine options - two petrol motors and one diesel motor. The petrol units are likely to be the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated motor from the Tiago and the 1.2-litre Revotron turbo unit from the Nexon. As for the diesel, the motor may again be shared with the Nexon, the 1.5-litre turbo Revotorq. However, both the engines from the Nexon are likely to be detuned for use in the Altroz.
As for styling, the Altroz will feature large pulled-back projector headlamps with chrome accents, 10-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels and black finish on the roof and ORVMs. Further, the Altroz will be the second model from Tata (after the Harrier) to feature the brand's IMPACT 2.0 Design Philosophy and, it will be built on the brand's all-new Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture.
While we wait for the car's official launch for the final details, watch this space for our first impressions of the car as we'll be driving it next month.
