The Altroz iCNG from Tata Motors is now available for a starting price of Rs 7.55 lakh (ex-showroom). With the launch of the Altroz, Tata introduced their unique dual-cylinder setup for CNG tanks, making it the first CNG-powered hatchback to include a sunroof. Last month, the automaker started taking bookings for Rs 21,000. There are six Altroz CNG variants to choose from: XE, XM+, XM+ (S), XZ, XZ+ (S), and XZ+ O (S). Tata's newest model, the Altroz CNG, will be the third in the company's portfolio to offer a compressed natural gas (CNG) option from the factory. Tata Altroz will compete with cars like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Toyota Glanza CNG. The Tata Altroz iCNG's trunk is where you'll see the biggest improvement. As Tata's first use of twin-cylinder CNG technology in the nation, the premium hatchback will have a pair of cylinders positioned on the floorboard of the cargo area. The two cylinders have a total capacity of 60 litres.

Tata Altroz iCNG: Design
Besides an 'iCNG' sticker on the trunk lid, the Altroz CNG is visually indistinguishable from the petrol-powered variant. Tata has saved some cargo room by stowing the two 30-litre CNG tanks beneath the trunk floor. CNG tanks formerly used almost all of the available boot space.
Tata Altroz iCNG: Features
The interior is also mostly unchanged from the petrol Altroz. It has the same air purifier, wireless charging, automated headlights, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connection, and more. However, the XM+ (S), XZ+ (S), and XZ+ O (S) now come standard with a voice-activated, single-pane sunroof.
Tata Altroz iCNG: Engine
A 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox powers the Altroz CNG. It generates 89bhp and 115 Nm of torque when running on petrol but only 78bhp and 103Nm of torque when running on compressed natural gas. Its main competitors, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG and the Toyota Glanza CNG, both generate 77bhp but only 98.5Nm of torque while operating in their CNG modes.
