Suzuki Australia launched the made-in-India Jimny 5-door in December 2023 in the home market where the model is sold as the Jimny XL. That model has now received a special edition treatment giving the Jimny 5-door some distinct design elements. Only 500 units of the special edition model, dubbed the Jimny 5-door Heritage Edition, will be made, with pricing climbing by AU$ 1,500 (roughly Rs 83,600) compared to the model on which it is based. For potential Aussie buyers, the Heritage Edition is priced at AU$ 36,490, which translates to Rs 20.34 lakh.
So, what makes the Heritage Edition special? The retro-flavoured decals – a visual nod to the 70s, 80s and 90s – can be seen on the body. Besides, the special model comes with the 'Heritage' lettering, and red mudflaps both front and back, with the latter also sporting Suzuki embossing. The Suzuki Jimny XL Heritage Edition can be had in White, Bluish Black Pearl, Jungle Green, Granite Grey, and Chiffon Ivory with a Black roof.

Suzuki Jimny 5-door Heritage Edition: Features
Features-wise, the Australia-spec model remains broadly the same as the India-spec SUV but gains an ADAS suite with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) as standard. For those not aware, the Government of Australia made the AEB feature mandatory in all new passenger and commercial vehicles approved for sale in the country, effective from March 1, 2023.
The ADAS suite also incorporates features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, dual camera brake support system, and weaving alert. Speaking of the safety equipment, the car also gets six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, traction control, and ISOFIX mounts.
Like the India-spec model, the Jimny XL offers a 9.0-inch multimedia touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, hill descent control, auto climate control, keyless entry, limited slip differential, and automatic LED headlamps.
Suzuki Jimny 5-door Heritage Edition: Powertrain
Under the hood, the Jimny XL Heritage Edition gets the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated K15B petrol engine as the Indian version. This engine, however, is offered in a different state-of-tune, developing 99bhp and 130Nm of peak torque. In comparison, the Indian model makes 103bhp at 6,000rpm and 134Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. Unlike the standard Jimny XL, the Heritage Edition is mated only to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
