Skoda has already sold 9,55,300 cars worldwide till the month of November and crossing one million cars mark doesn’t seem far-fetched.
Skoda has every reason to celebrate right now. It delivered 90,200 units in the month of November which is 10% more than what it sold in November last year. China played a major role in helping Skoda write this success story as the sales increased by 46.9% this November over last year. This statistical information means that people at Skoda will be throwing away this years' calenders with extreme happiness as the dream they had been wanting to come alive from some years will be realised this year. This also means selling 34,500 more units so far than 9,20,800 units they sold in entire 2013.
Speaking more on the achievement, Prof. Dr. H. C. Winfried Vahland, CEO, Skoda said, “Skoda will set a new sales record this year. Following the positive results in November, the milestone of one million vehicles produced and sold in one calendar year is certain. Producing and selling one million Skoda cars for the first time in one year is a milestone for our brand, and has made the whole team very proud.”
In India, the scene was not so mesmerising for the Volkswagen owned car maker. In November 2013, Skoda sold 1,600 cars whereas in this November, it managed to sell just 1,200 units. This decline in its sales figures can also be blamed on the poor after-sales service Skoda is infamously known for in India.
