The all-electric Vision 7S is the first concept car to preview Skoda's all-new design language!
Skoda Auto announced its new design language at its annual press conference in March, earlier this year. And today, the Czech brand has presented its first-ever preview – a teaser of the upcoming Vision 7S Concept. As the name suggests, the Vision 7S gives us a glimpse of an all-new versatile interior architecture, which is spacious enough to seat seven occupants in three rows. The minimalist design focuses on the inclusion of sustainable materials, intuitive controls, and digital technologies.
The symmetrical, wrap-around design of the interior is highlighted by a wide horizontal dashboard, which extends to the doors. A redesigned steering wheel features integrated haptic controls, and so do the door panels. Ambient lighting highlights various areas of the interior, including charging status, and provides appropriate lighting when getting in and out of the car. Plus, there is an integrated child seat, one of Skoda's key 'Simply Clever' features, in the centre – the safest place in a vehicle.
The interior also offers two distinct configurations, depending on the vehicle mode. In Drive mode, all the controls are set in their ideal positions; the central touchscreen is vertically aligned to display all the relevant information while driving. In Relax mode, which can be activated while charging or during a stop, the steering wheel and instrument cluster slide forward, while the first- and second-row seats move back for an even more relaxed seating position.
While Concept 7S' full reveal will give us a first proper glimpse of the brand's new design language, it is expected to make its production debut on a 2023 model, most likely on a flagship, like the Superb. However, this is yet to be confirmed.
