Several major automakers, including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Kia, will increase the pricing of their cars in January 2025. Skoda India has also joined the list, with a 3% increase in the cost of cars including the Slavia, Kushaq, and Kodiaq from next month. Similar to many other automakers, the price rise is due to growing input costs and total operations expenses. However, it's worth noting that the recently launched Kylaq is set to be excluded from the price increase till it surpasses 33,333 bookings. Buyers can currently buy the SUV at its introductory pricing (Rs 7.89 lakh-Rs 14.40 lakh, ex-showroom). For reference, the Kodiaq is priced at Rs 39.99 lakh, while the Kushaq costs Rs 10.89 lakh. The Slavia, on the other hand, retails for Rs 10.69 lakh. These are starting and ex-showroom prices.

The all-new Skoda Kodiaq is expected to debut in India at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi (January 17-22). However, the SUV will most likely hit shelves in our market around the April-June quarter of next year. Globally, the Skoda Kodiaq is available with a range of powertrain options, but the India-spec vehicle will most likely feature the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, delivering 187bhp and 320Nm. It boasts a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission combined with all-wheel drive (4X4).

According to the previous test mules, the next-generation Skoda Kodiaq has split headlamps, a butterfly-shaped grille, and a honeycomb pattern with vertical air dams on the sides. It is also equipped with C-shaped wraparound LED taillights, a redesigned bumper, and new alloy wheels. Additionally, the SUV gets an upward-sloping lower window line near the C-pillar.

Features-wise, the updated Kodiaq will likely include a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a heads-up display, a 13-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic sunroof. It is expected to have up to nine airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and ADAS for safety.
