Weeks before its global debut, Skoda has released the design sketches of the upcoming Slavia sedan.
We have already driven the prototype of the upcoming Slavia sedan, however, at the media drive, the car was under wraps. Not only the opinion of the interior was under embargo but we weren’t allowed to show you a glimpse of the inside!
That being said, a thorough unveil of the upcoming Skoda Slavia has been planned for November 18. That is when we shall have a view of what the Slavia packs under its jazzy orange camouflage. Also, we will get to know how different will the cabin experience will be compared to the Skoda Kushaq that is based on the same MQB-A0-IN platform.
Before the global appearance of the Slavia, Skoda has released design sketches of the same. The fascia of the Slavia is in line with the brand’s family design language. The vertically slatted grille is unmissable especially when it is highlighted by the chrome surrounds. Expect the headlamp design to be sleek and pulled back closer to the wheel arch.
The alloy wheel sports a 10-spoke design and going by the sketches, Skoda may not offer a diamond-cut finish. Just as the headlamps, the tail lamps showcase a slim design as well. The car in the design sketches appears to be painted in Lava Blue, which is a colour on offer with the outgoing Skoda Octavia.
Coming to the mechanicals, the Slavia will come with a choice of two engine options. A 1.0-litre three-cylinder and 1.5-litre four-pot units. Both the engines will be turbocharged petrol units. Both the engines will come with optional automatic transmissions. The smaller power plant will feature a torque convertor whereas the bigger engine will be coupled with a dual-clutch auto.
The India launch of the Skoda Slavia will be held sometime in the Q1 of 2022. The pricing of the new sedan is expected to be comparatively lower than its SUV sibling, the Skoda Kushaq.
