While people are eagerly waiting for the next generation of Skoda's flagship Kodiaq and Superb, the Czech automaker seems to be busy with the mid-life updates for its Scala and Kamiq models. Skoda released a pair of official sketch designs, teasing a slight stylistic modification that will feature on the facelifted siblings, which are set to make their debut on August 1. The Kamiq B-SUV and the Scala compact hatchback, which are both based on an extended version of the MQB A0 design from the Volkswagen Group, were initially introduced in 2019. Skoda claims that the upgrade would include design and technological elements 'from higher vehicle classes'. The grille, front and rear aprons, and headlights of the Scala and Kamiq have all been updated. They will also feature new alloy wheels and tailgate lettering, matching Skoda's redesigned CI. Read on to know more about what the newly released teasers reveal about the upcoming models.

Skoda Scala, Kamiq Facelifts: What to Expect?
The Scala hatchback will feature sportier bumper intakes, a slightly altered grille, and sharper, thinner headlights with new LED graphics. Additionally, there will be new LED taillight graphics, a diffuser incorporating 'crystalline' components from Skoda, a new design for the alloy wheels, and new lettering on the tailgate.
The Kamiq subcompact SUV, on the other hand, keeps its split headlights, but they are now smaller and sit on either side of a slightly wider grille. Along with dark grey accents and silver-painted skid plates, the front and rear bumpers have also been revised. Last but not least, the new LED graphics and new reflectors are coupled with the L-shaped taillights. The interior design sketches of the car, which are expected to be shared by the two mechanically similar vehicles, have not yet been revealed by the manufacturer. In terms of comfort and safety features, we expect a larger infotainment touchscreen, an updated digital instrument cluster, and more extensive equipment.
Skoda Scala, Kamiq Facelifts: Powertrain Options
Similar to the recently updated Volkswagen T-Cross, the engine lineup is expected to be carried over from the previous versions, which includes the turbo 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 92.7bhp or 111.4bhp, and the more powerful turbo 1.5-litre TSI four-cylinder, which produces 146bhp of maximum power. Depending on the model, the front axle will receive power through a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, or 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Skoda Scala, Kamiq Facelifts: Expected Launch
Further information about the models will be revealed at the global debut of the updated Skoda Scala and the Kamiq on August 1st. The upgraded Skoda models will be offered for sale in Europe first. The Scala's arrival in India is, however, quite unlikely.
