The Rapid Monte Carlo variant has been around for some time now and Skoda has decided to spice things up with its new addition to the Rapid’s variant lineup. The brand has launched the new top-of-the-line limited edition of the Rapid in India.
Skoda India has launched the Matte edition of the Rapid sedan. The Matte Edition is available with a manual (MT), as well as, an automatic (AT) gearbox option. The price for the Skoda Rapid Matte Edition MT starts at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Rapid Matte Edition AT is priced higher at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
The manual version of the Rapid Matte Edition is priced exactly the same as the Monte Carlo MT variant. The automatic variant of the Rapid Matte Edition, on the other hand, is pricier by Rs 20,000 than the Monte Carlo AT variant, which makes it the most expensive variant in the Skoda Rapid lineup.
This new variant offers cosmetic updates over the standard Skoda Rapid. The exterior is painted in Carbon Steel colour which has a matte finish. The grille, bumper lips, side moulding, door handles, mirror caps, lip spoiler, trunk garnish, rear diffuser and alloy wheels are finished in gloss black.
Similarly, the interiors are treated a dual-tone Tellur Grey and black leatherette upholstery. There are a few Alcantara inserts in the cabin as well. The car is also equipped with a USB powered air purifier. There are stainless steel scuff plates with ‘Rapid’ inscription. Skoda has also added high visibility bulbs for the Rapid Matte Edition. The engine is the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol motor that puts out 108bhp and 175Nm.
