Skoda Auto has revealed the name of its first sub-4-metre SUV, the Kylaq. A new spy video of the SUV has surfaced online, showing significant anticipated design elements. The Kylaq is about to enter one of the most competitive spaces in the market, sharing the MQB-A0-IN platform with the Kushaq and the Slavia. Upon launch in the Indian market, the upcoming Skoda model will lock horns with the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra 3X0, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the Tata Nexon. Skoda Kylaq SUV: Design Elements
In the most recent spy video, the test mule of the car can be seen with a single-pane electric sunroof. However, the top-of-the-line variants of the new Kylaq are expected to be the only ones with alloy wheels and a single-pane sunroof. An extensive range of exterior colour options will be available for the model, with a red paint job being part of the colour palette. Split headlights will be standard on the Kylaq along with new LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Furthermore, the SUV will also get inverted L-shaped LED taillights and a clear lens system for the taillights. The car will also boast design elements such as roof rails, a tailgate-mounted number plate holder, a shark-fin antenna, and a slightly sloped C pillar.
Skoda Kylaq SUV: Powertrain Options
The sub-4 metre Skoda Kylaq compact SUV will likely be propelled by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI petrol engine, allowing the manufacturer to take advantage of the tax brackets that apply to SUVs in this segment. This mill could come with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic torque converter transmission. The engine will belt out 114bhp of maximum power and 178Nm of peak torque.

Skoda Kylaq SUV: Features
When it comes to features, expect the new Kylaq to comprise amenities like a fully digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, a sunroof, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It may also boast a 360-degree camera, ADAS functionality, an electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat mounts, up to six airbags, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for safety.
Skoda Kylaq SUV: India Launch and Expected Price
The Kylaq is expected to make its world debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January next year. According to several market reports, production might start by the end of this year, and the SUV will go on sale in February 2025.
