Skoda Kylaq Production Begins at Chakan Plant, Deliveries to Start in January

Following the full-price announcement, Skoda has officially begun production of the Kylaq at its Chakan plant in Pune. The subcompact SUV has generated immense interest, securing over 10,000 bookings within just 10 days. To keep up with the growing demand, Skoda has now ramped up its production capacity by 30%, targeting an annual output of 2.55 lakh units. The Kylaq is set to hit dealerships on January 27, 2025, and Skoda is expanding its dealer network to reach Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

Skoda Kylaq: Key Specifications

The Kylaq has Skoda's Modern-Solid design language, bold, and boxy shape, split headlamps, and compact proportions. The iconic butterfly grille, black roof rails, sleek LED lighting, and 17-inch alloy wheels add a touch of sophistication to its design. Inside, the Kylaq has a refined black and grey cabin, accented with sleek piano black details on the dashboard and centre console.

The higher-spec variants enhance the luxury feel with leatherette seats and a single-pane sunroof. In terms of features, the SUV is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless connectivity, cruise control, 6-way powered front seats (segment-first), ventilated front seats, six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera and electronic stability control (ESC).

Skoda has equipped the brand-new Kylaq with a 1.0-litre TSI engine that produces 115bhp and 178Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. It enables a top speed of 188km/h and a 0 to 100km/h acceleration time of 10.5 seconds with the manual gearbox.
