Skoda Auto India has launched the Onyx automatic variant of its renowned Kushaq SUV. With an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 13.49 lakh, the Kushaq Onyx AT is touted as the most reasonably priced automatic SUV in its segment. On the mechanical front, the car is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI turbocharged petrol engine. For the uninitiated, the Kushaq Onyx version was first introduced by the Czech carmaker last year but was limited to the manual gearbox. Skoda has now expanded the range by including the six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The powertrain setup generates 114bhp of maximum power and 178Nm of peak torque.

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Automatic Variant: Feature Set
The Onyx variant of the Kushaq sits between the Active and Ambition trims. A range of features intended to improve comfort and safety are included in the Kushaq Onyx. These comprise LED headlights with daytime running lights (DRLs), cornering fog lamps, a rear wiper with defogger, hill hold control, paddle shifters, and automatic climate control. The two-spoke steering wheel has a chrome scroller and is wrapped in leather. Furthermore, the variant is outfitted with six airbags, providing enhanced protection for all passengers.
Apart from these functional amenities, the SUV boasts visual enhancements such as floor mats, scuff plates, an Onyx badge, and Onyx-themed cushions, which provide a sense of exclusivity to the model's cabin.

Skoda Slavia Facelift Spotted Testing
In other news, Skoda is contemplating a mid-life cycle update for the Slavia sedan in India. The updated model is expected to hit the market soon, though the company has not made any official announcements. According to the latest spy photos, the car appears to have a smaller grille, upgraded LED headlights, and boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. Except for minor differences, it seems almost identical to its predecessor from the side and rear. The spy images show the sunroof, LED taillights, halogen fog lamps, shark-fin antenna, blacked-out multispoke alloy wheels, and halogen fog lights.
