The Czech brand will start off its EV journey in India by introducing the long-awaited Skoda Enyaq iV electric SUV. Currently, the SUV runs on the streets of Europe and a few more international markets. Skoda will launch its first EV - Enyaq iV for India by March 2024. With the introduction of this new electric SUV, the Czech carmaker will assess our market in the EV segment before deciding on its future lineup here. The SUV marked its global debut in 2021. It is manufactured at the automaker's primary facility in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic, and exported to numerous markets worldwide. Skoda Enyaq iV: Key Details
Dimensionally, the new SUV is nearly as big as the Skoda Kodiaq, measuring 4,648mm in length and 1,877mm in width. It only has two rows of seats and can seat up to five passengers. Talking of the structure and powertrain, the VW Group's MEB platform, also used by the Audi Q4 e-tron and Volkswagen ID 4 crossovers, will serve as the foundation for Skoda's electric SUV - the Enyaq iV. The electric car has been spotted testing several times on our roads, specifically the Enyaq iV 80x version.
This version of the SUV gets a 77kWh battery that features two electric motors. On the front axle, one motor is present, and on the back axle, the other. The upcoming SUV's AWD powertrain offers a total output of 261bhp. According to the manufacturer, the Enyaq iV 80x accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and has a 513-Kilometre of driving range. Skoda also claims that the 77kWh battery pack is capable of supporting up to 125kW DC fast charging.
In terms of appearance, the upcoming EV sports a black trapezoidal grille with small vents, 19-inch aero Proteus alloy wheels, and an angular rear profile. On the inside, the model will have a redesigned HUD with AR and a 5.3-inch digital driver's display. Other notable features include a 13-inch centre infotainment screen, leather-wrapped steering wheel, sunroof, and more. As far as the price goes, the new SUV could ask for an amount ranging between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 70 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.

Skoda EV Global Expansion Plans
Skoda plans to expand its BEV portfolio by introducing six models in the global market by 2026. The new "Modern Solid" design philosophy of Skoda Auto will be a part of these six vehicles. The six models will consist of two revised Enyaq range versions and four brand-new cars, according to the automaker. Approximately €5.6 billion will be invested in e-mobility by the automaker.
