Alongside the S-Class, there's also a GLS Maybach Edition 100 on offer. Each model is strictly limited to just 100 units!
What better way for a car brand to celebrate its centenary than by launching bespoke, limited edition models! Well, that's the case with Maybach this time. Daimler is celebrating Maybach's 100 years of pushing the envelope in the luxury car genre by announcing special editions of the S-Class and GLS, dubbed 'Edition 100.' With each model limited to just 100 units, Mercedes will open its order books for the Edition 100 units from the fourth quarter of 2021.
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Edition 100 is based on the top-spec variant of the flagship saloon. Therefore, power comes from a 604bhp V12 that sends it to all four wheels (for the first time). Apart from the Maybach S-Class' famed 180mm longer wheelbase than the standard LWB S-Class, other feature highlights include 'a noise-insulated first-class rear compartment' with a Burmester 4D surround sound system, heated massaging seats and numerous 'Edition 100' inscriptions across the interior and exterior.
Likewise, with the Maybach GLS, the Edition 100 model uses the range-topping 549bhp model, but this one's powered by a V8. Compared to its saloon sibling, the Maybach GLS offers additional soundproofing for the interior.
Both the S-Class and GLS are finished in the same hand-painted two-tone paint scheme – High-tech Silver and Nautical Blue – and feature a special design of the Designo Crystal White/Silver Grey Pearl leather upholstery. Both models also ride on bespoke grey-finish forged wheels.
Expect the first lot of cars to reach dealerships in the domestic market at the beginning of 2022.
