RTR Revives Colour-shifting Mystichrome Paint for the New Ford Mustang
The iconic Mystichrome shade for the new Ford Mustang now costs USD 15,995 (roughly Rs 13.39 lakh), consistent with the rarity and skill required to create this distinctive paint finish.
An iconic paint job for the Ford Mustang is being revived by North Carolina-based tuner RTR Vehicles. One of the most striking hues to ever adorn a Mustang, Mystichrome, will return in 2024 as a part of RTR's new Premium Paint Options range. Mystichrome, first seen on the 1996 Mustang Cobra, totally changes its look based on the lighting. This distinctive shade can appear as brown, green, blue, purple, or gold, providing a captivating and constantly shifting visual experience. Mystichrome was expensive, nonetheless, because of its appeal. Ford charged an astounding USD 3,650 (about Rs 3.05 lakh) in 2004 for this option, which is roughly USD 6,100 (Rs 5.11 lakh) as per today's exchange rates. As a result, an estimated 1,010 Mustang SVT Cobras were the only ones to be painted in this shade.

Ford Mustang Mystichrome Shade: Price Details
Ford hasn't sold Mystichrome since it was first introduced, but due to RTR, enthusiasts may now enjoy this alluring colour on the upcoming Mustang. The price has significantly increased, with the colour being as tempting as ever. Mystichrome from RTR now costs USD 15,995 (roughly Rs 13.39 lakh), consistent with the rarity and skill required to create this distinctive paint finish. With its Extended Colour Palette, which offers a range of intriguing options, RTR caters to customers who want a unique paint colour without a steep price tag. The palette comprises shades like Leadfoot Grey, Azure Blue, Rosso Scuderia, NATO Olive, and Signal Green, each valued at USD 8,995 (approximately Rs 7.53 lakh). RTR also offers the option of coating a matte clearcoat on the factory colour, allowing for more subtle customisation.
Paint-to-sample Service
To cater to customers looking for a genuinely unique colour, RTR has launched a popular service called paint-to-sample. Customers using this service may provide a sample of whichever colour they like. Paint-to-sample adds USD 5,000 (about Rs 4.18 lakh) to the final cost, allowing buyers to add a unique and appealing touch to make their Mustang stand out.
The good news is that Mustang collectors and aficionados can opt for their preferred colour starting this month, as RTR will be taking orders for its new paint jobs. RTR is once again pushing the limits of Mustang personalisation, enabling customers to truly make their Mustangs unique with the return of Mystichrome and the addition of an array of customisation options.
