Rolls-Royce has hit the streets to test Cullinan SUV, although it might be two years before we see its production avatar.
SUVs have gradually made their way into people’s hearts and are becoming the universal favourite. In the recent past, we have seen car makers like Maserati and Jaguar making their debut in the segment, and it seems like Rolls-Royce will soon follow the suit. The British car maker announced its venture into SUVs a while back but now it has finally released pictures of its upcoming model. Don’t get too excited though, the pictures released are of a camouflaged car and don’t give out too many details.
Rolls-Royce has been extremely smart in hiding its SUV project so far. Internally called, Cullinan, Rolls-Royce is yet to officially christen the SUV. The images revealed by RR, show its large vertically slat grille, much like the Phantom. That aside the headlights and the long bonnet make the Cullinan unmistakably Rolls-Royce. No images of the rear of the car have been released as yet, but expect spy shots to make their rounds pretty soon as the Cullinan will soon be out for testing. The ultra-luxurious SUV will head to the Arctic for cold weather testing later this month and in 2017 it will perform its hot weather testing rounds in the Middle East.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is not expected to make its official debut before 2018. When it is launched, the car will lock horns with the likes of the recently launched Bentley Bentayga and the Lamborghini Urus.
