According to the French carmaker, the airbags of Pulse and Scala could compromise the safety of the occupants.
Almost 646 units of Renault Pulse and Scala are expected to be recalled by the French carmaker to fix a faulty airbag issue. Renault says that these airbags can possibly threaten the safety of the occupants. The cars to be covered are Pulse and the diesel Scala manufactured between September 2011 and July 2012.
Renault has initiated the process of calling its customers voluntarily.
The company told Economic Times, “Renault is conducting a voluntary check on certain potentially affected Renault vehicles (620 Pulse and 26 Scala — produced between September 2011 and July 2012) which may have a possibility of driver airbag problem.”
In the recent times, it has become a norm for almost every car manufacturer across the globe to recall its cars over the same issue. Takata, an airbag maker from Japan, that supplies airbags to most of the carmakers worldwide has been in the news from quite some time for providing faulty airbags. As a result of the same, almost 10 million cars were affected and were recalled in various countries.
