Renault has teased a new SUV for the international market, called the Kardian, which will be revealed on October 25 in Rio de Janeiro. The company will also discuss its new worldwide market strategy on the occasion. And while the name of the car has been confirmed by the brand, not many details have been revealed about it. The car will be introduced first in Latin America. According to the teaser, the new Kardian SUV has a distinctive paint scheme, a combination of orange and black. The car has a curved body, small taillights, and an angled back window, along with a notable liftgate with distinct badging. Let's take a closer look at other details of this upcoming SUV for the international market.
Renault Kardian: Story Behind the Name
The word ‘Kardian’ resembles the word ‘guardian’, which symbolises strength and protection. And the powerful consonants ‘K,’ ‘R,’ and ‘D’ in the word ‘Kardian’ further reinforce these notions. According to Sylvia, Model Name Strategy Manager at Renault Global Marketing Department, ‘What makes the Renault Kardian so interesting is the way it evokes agility. It reminds you of cardio sports – sport, momentum, and adrenaline.’
She further adds, ‘The all-new Renault Kardian is the youngest model name in our range and represents the Renaulution on an international stage. We pronounce the letter combination in French because Renault is a French brand – it's a bit like the “French Touch.”’ She also says that the firm’s revolutionary approach is embodied in this car, with the model name evoking technology, safety, spaciousness, driving pleasure, and agility.
The brand-new Renault Kardian is expected to enhance Renault's standing internationally. Soon after it makes its debut in the Latin American market, sales will begin in other nations across the world. Currently, no information regarding its powertrain has been revealed. More details are expected to emerge as we move closer to the global debut.
