After many other car manufacturers, it’s Renault India which will increase the prices of its cars by 2.5% from January 2015.

Hardly four days ago, we had written that Nissan India will be increasing the price of its cars from January 2015. Now the latest car manufacturer to follow suit is Renault India which will increase the prices of its cars by 2.5% from January 2015.

The reason Renault India has given is the same as given by Nissan, Maruti, BMW and Hyundai – increasing input costs. The price hike will hit the entire range of Renault products in India.

Commenting on the hike, Mr. Rafael Treguer, Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Renault India said, “So far we have absorbed the rising input costs, but a sustained challenging market environment has compelled us to increase our prices.”

Renault India, the fully owned subsidiary of France's Renault SAS, sells five models - Pulse, Scala, Duster, Fluence and Koleos in India.

The price hike will roughly mean the prices increasing from Rs. 11,150 to Rs. 65,000 (in Delhi) depending on which model you want to go for.
