Currently a concept, the Arkana has been designed as a product for global markets. However, Renault has no plans of launching the Arkana in Europe as of now.
Renault has lifted the cover of its latest coupé-crossover concept, the Arkana. This model, as per Renault, is aimed at customers who want the elegance of a sedan with the robustness of an SUV. The Arkana will battle it out in the competitive C-segment.
The show car revealed at the Moscow International Motor Show sheds light on the dual nature of the car, with the robustness exemplified through the high ground clearance, wide wheel arches and large, 19-inch wheels, which give the car good all-terrain capabilities. On the other hand, design elements and features like a high waistline, sloping coupé roofline, side chrome accents and a panoramic glass roof present the elegant aspects of the Arkana.
'The Arkana show car is a distinctive coupé-crossover, a striking balance between the elegance of a saloon and the powerful stance of an SUV. We have dialled in specific Renault cues, with a strong design, strength and sensuality with a French touch,' said Laurens Van den Acker, Senior Vice-President of Corporate Design at Renault.
With the Arkana set to contribute to Renault's international expansion, it will eventually be produced and marketed in multiple global markets, as per Renault officials. However, the proceedings will begin with Russia in 2019. Asia could potentially be the next stop for the Arkana but at this stage, its entry to India has not been confirmed yet.
