The electric Renault 5 Turbo 3E is a limited-edition 'mini-supercar' that pays homage to the legendary 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 rally cars from the '80s. It boasts a supercar-level performance, advanced technical specifications, and a carbon fibre superstructure, within a compact hot hatch design. The 5 Turbo 3E is limited to just 1,980 units, a figure that coincides with the launch year of the original Renault 5 Turbo. Orders are expected to open soon, with deliveries scheduled for the first half of 2027. Here’s an in-depth look at some features of this limited-edition model.

Renault 5 Turbo 3E: Exterior and Interior
The R5 Turbo 3E boasts a mix of retro and modern design. The square LED headlights flow into the bonnet, while LED daytime running lights provide modern illumination. An aerodynamic splitter and bonnet vent boost downforce, and carefully placed intakes and scoops channel airflow, enhancing both aerodynamics and the car's bold, aggressive look. Other highlights include a windshield-to-spoiler surround and massive 20-inch wheels. The R5 Turbo 3E measures 4080mm long, 2030mm wide, and 1380mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2570mm. It has a ground clearance of 118mm and weighs 1,450 kg.

The interior has bucket seats with six-point harnesses and carbon fibre elements designed to reduce weight. The seats and dashboard are crafted from Alcantara. Moreover, there is a rally-inspired vertical handbrake.

Other key features include dual 10.1-inch and 10.25-inch screens that display crucial information like driving data, navigation, and multimedia content. Powered by OpenR Link, the system integrates Google services, such as Google Maps for route planning and managing charging schedules.
Renault 5 Turbo 3E: Powertrain
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E has a 70kWh battery paired with two rear-wheel hub motors, producing a total of around 536bhp and 4,800Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 270km/h and a WLTP range of 400 kilometres. With an 800-volt architecture, the R5 Turbo 3E supports 350 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 15-80% charge in 15 minutes. The onboard 11 kW charger provides full AC charging in about eight hours.

The R5 Turbo 3E comes equipped with a range of driving aids, including a boost button on the steering wheel, a four-stage regenerative braking system, and four selectable drive modes: Snow, Regular, Sport, and Race. The Race mode also features a drift assist function.
