Renault 4 E-Tech EV Unveiled Globally with 148bhp and 400Km Range

The Renault 4 E-Tech uses a stretched version of the AmpR Small architecture and will offer two fully electric powertrains that drive the front wheels.

At the 2024 Paris Motor Show, Renault introduced the all-electric 4 E-Tech, a modern reimagining of the classic 1961 Renault 4. With a 400km range, it's designed for both city driving and longer trips, offering flexibility for different lifestyles. The 4 E-Tech combines cutting-edge electric technology with nostalgic design elements from the original model, making it both stylish and efficient. This launch highlights Renault's growing focus on electric vehicles and marks a key moment in the brand’s transition toward sustainable mobility.

The 4 E-Tech combines modern design with elements from the classic Renault 4. The front has a flat grille with an illuminated logo, and circular LED DRLs inside, a nod to the original. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, and the doors have three creases at the bottom, reflecting the old model's style.

The car keeps the quarter window behind the rear doors and includes two functional roof rails, with an optional retractable fabric roof for added flexibility. A bold "4" badge on the tailgate is framed by vertical taillights that extend into the rear bumper, giving it a sleek, modern look.

The 4 E-Tech has a tech-focused interior with a dual-screen layout, including a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch touchscreen with built-in Google apps. It comes with 26 driver assistance features through Level 2 ADAS for added safety.

The 'Reno' virtual assistant, powered by ChatGPT, offers smart voice control. The car also supports bidirectional charging, allowing it to power external devices or send energy back to the grid, adding versatility and sustainability.

Renault 4 E-Tech: Powertrain

The 4 E-Tech comes with two powertrain options. The Comfort model has a 52kWh battery and a 110kW motor, providing 150bhp and 245Nm of torque. For a more compact option, the Urban Range model offers a 40kWh battery with a 90kW motor, producing 120bhp and 225Nm of torque. This version has a 300km range, perfect for city driving and short trips.
