The new Range Rover Sport SV Edition 1 and PHEV variants have been added to India's Range Rover Sport range, with ex-showroom prices of Rs 2.80 crore and Rs 2.11 crore, respectively. In the Indian market, the base Range Rover Sport was available with 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol and diesel mild-hybrid engine options for more than a year. Land Rover has introduced these two new variations to provide customers with more options. The Range Rover Sport SV Edition 1 lock horns with the Lamborghini Urus, the Audi RS Q8, and the Aston Martin DBX. On the other hand, the PHEV version has no direct rival as of now. While no official announcement has been made, industry reports indicate that prospective buyers can reserve any of these models, with delivery times predicted to be between six and eight months after booking. Range Rover Sport SV Edition 1, PHEV Versions: Mechanical Specifics
A 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine procured from BMW drives the Range Rover Sport SV Edition 1. This setup generates 750Nm at 1,800–5,855rpm and 626bhp at 6,000–7,000rpm. With an 8-speed automatic transmission, the vehicle claims to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and distribute power to all four wheels. Its top speed is 290km/h. On the other hand, a 38.2kWh battery and a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder engine drive the Range Rover Sport PHEV. This combination yields 660Nm and 453bhp of performance figures. It asserts 0 to 100km/h acceleration time of 5.5 seconds, and a maximum speed of 225km/h. The battery pack may be charged with a 7 kW AC charger in five hours. Moreover, the PHEV has an electric-only range of 123 kilometres. It is only offered on the fully loaded Autobiography model.
Range Rover Sport SV Edition 1, PHEV Versions: What's Changed Cosmetically?
Compared to the base model, the Range Rover Sport SV Edition 1 version has a few exterior changes. These include increased camber, larger front and rear tracks, an updated front bumper and grille, side skirts, and a back bumper with dual twin exhausts. Inside, you'll find a translucent edge-lit gear lever, a lighted 'SV' branding on the backrests, and carbon-fibre-backed SV-spec performance sport seats.
It is interesting to note that the PHEV version is equipped with all modern features and hasn't undergone any external or interior cosmetic enhancements. A panoramic sunroof, digital LED headlights, ambient lighting, illuminated scuff plates, four-zone climate control, head-up display, and other features are only available in this version, which is available in the top-spec Autobiography edition.

With the introduction of these new versions, Land Rover aims to provide an extensive and bespoke offering in the high-end SUV sector. While the PHEV variant has distinguished itself as a unique offering in the plug-in hybrid class, the SV Edition 1 rivals various high-performance SUVs on the market, claims the automaker. Price-wise, the Range Rover Sport SV Edition 1 costs Rs 2.80 crore, while the PHEV Autobiography is priced at Rs 2.11 crore. Both are ex-showroom prices.
