Porsche Taycan RWD Launched in India at Rs 1.67 Crore
The Porsche Taycan RWD delivers 402bhp and 410Nm of torque, sprinting from 0-100km/h in 4.8s with a top speed of 230km/h.

Porsche India has revealed the price of the rear-wheel drive (RWD) Taycan at Rs 1.67 crore (ex-showroom). This new variant is Rs 24 lakh cheaper than the Taycan 4S and Rs 87 lakh lower than the Turbo. With this, Porsche aims to expand its presence in India’s EV market. The India-spec Taycan RWD comes with an 89kWh (gross) battery pack, which is smaller than the 105kWh unit in the Taycan 4S and Turbo. This results in a WLTP range of 503-590km per charge, lower than the 4S’s 549-642km range.

Globally, the Taycan RWD also offers a larger 105kWh Performance Battery Plus, extending the range to 678km, but it is not available in India.
Taycan RWD: Powertrain and Performance
The Taycan RWD features a single motor on the rear axle, producing 402bhp and 410Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100kph in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 230km/h. In comparison, the dual-motor Taycan 4S generates 509bhp (590bhp with overboost) and 695Nm of torque. The RWD’s lighter setup offers different handling characteristics, appealing to buyers seeking a rear-drive performance EV.
The Taycan RWD is part of Porsche’s strategy to expand its EV range in India. With a lower price, it aims to attract a wider customer base, including those considering their first electric luxury car. The model’s performance, driving range, and Porsche branding are expected to appeal to EV enthusiasts.
