Porsche pulled the covers off the 911 Turbo and Turbo S ahead of their debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motorshow this September. It was at this show that Porsche first unveiled the 911 about 50 years ago and the Turbo and the Turbo S will be a grand tribute for this legendary 911 series.
The 911 Turbo is the recipient of a twin turbocharged 3.8 litre flat-six engine with direct injection technology. With 520 bhp on offer, the 911 Turbo sprints from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds and boasts of a top speed of 315 km/h.
The Turbo S is more potent as it churns out 560 bhp and is capable of reaching the 100km/h mark in 2.9 seconds, while top speed runs into the 318km/h mark. Porsche has been able to achieve this high performance thanks to adaptive aerodynamics, an active rear axle steering and a new all-wheel drive system.
Porsche has also bid goodbye to manual transmission and the 911 Turbo and Turbo S come equipped with a seven-speed dual clutch PDK transmission with auto start/stop function as standard. Porsche has improved efficiency significantly and the mileage figure now stands at 10.3 km/l.
The aggressive rear bumper intakes and dual-tone 20 inch aluminium wheels look good on the 911 Turbo. Additionally, the Turbo S gets full LED headlights and center hub wheel locks. Porsche has also given the customers a choice of an aerodynamic wing package which includes a three-stage retractable front spoiler and a rear wing with three tunes of adjustment.
The 911 Turbo and Turbo S will hit the European markets by September and prices are like to start from approximately Rs 1.15 crore.
