That long name is given to the most powerful production station wagon in the world right now.

Porsche’s Panamera Sport Turismo has gained an E-Hybrid variant in its already powerful Turbo S avatar, resulting in a station wagon that combines chemical and electrical energy to produce industry leading power output.

The powertrain setup, which was recently introduced on the Panamera four-door as well, combines a 542bhp, V8 biturbo petrol motor, with a 134bhp electric motor. The resultant system output comes out at 671bhp, along with 850Nm of max torque - which is accessible from just 1400rpm.

Porsche claims that the boost strategy used in the car has been taken from the 918 Spyder hypercar. Porsche’s 8-speed dual clutch PDK is used to transmit power to the standard adaptive all wheel drive system. The E-performance drive allows the vehicle to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds.

The E-Hybrid houses a 14.1kWh lithium-ion battery, which can be recharged anywhere between 2.4 to 6 hours, depending on the power source. The electric motor alone can propel this wagon for around 49km - without producing any emissions. Also, the all-electric mode limits the car’s top speed to 140km/h.
