Porsche Macan with a 2.0-litre petrol engine has now been launched in India.
Porsche has decided to expand their line-up in India by launching the Macan mid-size SUV with a new engine variant for Rs. 76.16 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Porsche Macan now comes with a 2.0-litre turbo charged petrol engine that develops 255hp and 370Nm of torque at 1600-4500rpm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox that sends power to the all-wheel-drive system. The 2.0-litre Macan will do 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds and max out at 229km/h.
Bookings for the 2.0L Macan have commenced at all Porsche dealerships across the country. However, customers will see their cars being delivered later on in the year.
Porsche produces two SUV globally, the Cayenne and the Macan. Both vehicles are brought in to the country and import CBUs which is why the Macan’s pricing is premium in India. Porsche currently sells two other variants of the Macan in India. The first is the 3.0-litre diesel variant, which because of the diesel ban in the Delhi-NCR region is not available in the particular state. The other is the Macan Turbo with a 3.6-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine which churns out 400hp and 550Nm of torque. Both these variants cost around the Rs. 1 cr. mark which is slightly expensive for the car's size and offering. Which is why the 2.0-litre Macan might just find some buyers in India with a more value for money product.
