The second generation Porsche Carrera GTS breaks cover, making it the 19th model to join the prestigious 911 family tree. The new GTS comes in four versions– a Coupé, a Cabriolet, rear-wheel or all-wheel drive – and are all based on the core values of the iconic rear-engined 911 by adding further technical features to generate even higher levels of dynamic performance and driving enjoyment.
The GTS version is powered by the same 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine as the Carrera S, but it’s been modified with a series of engine and exhaust modifications called the Powerkit. The engine now pumps out 430HP, 30 ponies more than the S, but the torque remains at 440Nm. The GTS gets many goodies as standard equipment like Sport Exhaust system and the SportChrono pack. This lets it accelerate from zero-to-100kmph in mere 4 seconds and with the standard seven-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, its top speed is 318kmph. According to Porsche, the GTS coupe, with the optional PDK dual-clutch transmission, is capable of doing 0-100kmph in 3.8 seconds.
The Carerra GTS gets a wide-flared rear wheel arches, 20-inch alloy wheels with centre-lock mechanism and an exclusive matt black finish. It comes with smoked bi-Xenon headlights with the addition of the Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS) and an air intake grille on the rear engine lid, which features bespoke GTS black trim strips and black chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes.
The interiors come with Alcantara leather-trimmed sport seats as does the centre seat panels are finished in Alcantara, as on the other Porsche GTS models.
