Just prior to the Geneva Motor Show, Porsche unveiled its Cayman GT4 with a 3.8-litre inline six-cylinder engine.
Porsche just introduced the latest member of its GT family. The no nonsense GT model has a 3.8-litre engine that is mounted in the middle, churning out a maximum of 385bhp of power at 7,400rpm. The engine has been borrowed from the 911 Carrera S. The wheels get the power delivered to them via a six-speed manual gearbox. It also helps the car reach the 100kmph mark in just 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 295kmph.
The car stands lower than the standard Cayman GT3 by 30mm and has better brakes. The chassis has been tweaked too to match the power and the performance. The design of the car has been made to not only make the car more aerodynamic but also create enough downforce.
The buyers also have options like ceramic brakes, shell-backed seats made of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP), a custom sport chrono package with the unique track precision app, and a Club Sport Package.
The Cayman GT4, which was developed by Porsche’s motorsport department in Weissach, Germany, also tells us loud and clear that Porsche is in no mood to shy away from the radical two-door sports in the near future.
Along with features like Xenon headlamps, sports exhaust, 20-inch alloy wheels, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical rear limited slip differential and a three-year warranty, every customer buying the Cayman GT4 will get to explore the potential of the car by participating in a complimentary course at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone.
The car will go on sale with immediate effect in UK and Ireland. In the UK market, the price of the car starts from £64,451.
