Porsche France introduced an exclusive model of the existing 911 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans while we wait for the launch of the facelifted 992 series. The vehicle, which borrows aesthetic cues from Le Mans and is based on the 911 Carrera GTS, will be made in a small batch of 72 units and is only available in the French market. The 1951 class-winning 356 SL and the well-known 911 GT1 that won the 1998 race overall with two French drivers both served as inspiration for the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition's distinctive elements. Commenting on the occasion, Marc Meurer, Managing Director, Porsche France said, "We are really proud to present this model today. The 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition is the fruit of the expertise and shared passion of our teams at Porsche France, Style Porsche, and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur."

Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition: Mechanical Details
A GTS-spec 911 powered by a rear-mounted twin-turbo 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with a peak power output of 467bhp serves as the foundation of the Centenaire Edition. There is a choice between an eight-speed PDK automatic gearbox and a seven-speed manual gearbox. The lack of a "4" in the name leads us to believe that all-wheel drive will not be an option for the special edition, which means that all 570Nm of maximum torque will be applied to the rear wheels.
Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition: Interior and Exterior
The colour scheme is significantly influenced by the Le Mans Silver Metallic-painted, class-winning 356 SL from 1951, which also has a roundel with the number 46 on it on the door. The bucket seats' inside mimics the 356 SL's cabin by being upholstered in Graphite Blue leather and corduroy. The steering wheel is covered in the same blue leather and has a Cayon marking at 12 o'clock that matches the stitching, SportChrono clock, and dial highlights.
The red seatbelts are a stylistic nod to the Porsche 911 GT1 that won the overall race in 1998. The interior also sports an outline of the Circuit de la Sarthe on the centre armrest and "24h" stamped into the headrest. The wheels, which are finished in a gold shade dubbed Aurum with an outer ring finished in Le Mans Silver Metallic, also bear the influence of the GT1. The Centenaire Edition also includes a decorative sticker that replicates the louvres of the '98 GT1 on the tiny rear side windows. The special 911 is further identifiable by distinctive badges, such as one with the "24h Le Mans" insignia encircled in a laurel wreath and the Porsche script on the rear grille. The words "Born in Le Mans, Manufactured in Zuffenhausen" are decals on the grille, while a French tricolour track outline is an insignia on the B-pillar. The doorsill trimmings distinguish this 911 as a special edition.
Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition: Expected Price
Although the pricing details of the exclusive edition are still under wraps, the Le Mans Centenaire Edition is probably going to cost far more than a standard GTS, which starts at $144,050 in the United States.
