Following the global premiere of the facelifted 911, Porsche India has launched the new 911 Carrera with the rear-wheel-drive tech, along with the new 911 Carrera 4 GTS. The latter gets all-wheel-drive tech with rear-axle steering. Carrying a price tag of Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom, India), the new Porsche 911 Carrera uses a 3.0-litre flat-six twin-turbo boxer engine which is more powerful than before. Thanks to the intercooler and 911 Carrera GTS-derived turbochargers, the engine makes 389bhp (up by 9bhp) and 450Nm of peak torque. Consequently, the 911 Carrera accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds (3.9 seconds with an optional Sport Chrono Package) before hitting a top speed of 294km/h.
Meanwhile, the new 911 Carrera 4 GTS – priced at Rs 2.75 crore (ex-showroom) – gets a T-Hybrid petrol-electric system, consisting of a new turbocharged 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox-mounted electric motor, and a lightweight lithium-ion battery. The engine alone develops 479bhp and 570Nm of torque, while combined output stands at 534bhp and 610Nm.
