The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS has been unveiled at the Festival of Dreams event in Mumbai, India. Porsche did a soft launch of its track-focused Cayman GT4 RS in India with a price tag of Rs 2.54 crore (ex-showroom) last year. Now, it has finally showcased the model at its Festival of Dreams event, which also celebrates the company's 75 years in the automotive sector. The luxury carmaker has not only unveiled the much-awaited model at the event but also revealed its entire lineup including an array of models from the newly launched Porsche-approved used car buying programme. At the event, collectors' items, accessories, and automobile maintenance products are available for purchase through the Porsche Lifestyle Section, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Zone, and Porsche Soul Garage.
Mechanically speaking, the new GT4 RS is powered by a 4.0-litre boxer-six engine as the standard GT4, but it produces 80bhp more power, at 494bhp. It comes mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox for transmission. According to Porsche, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds and attain a top speed of 315km/h. In terms of features, the sports car has Porsche's Track Precision app, which allows drivers to track and assess their lap times and driving performance. In addition, a rearview camera, a premium sound system, a touchscreen infotainment system, and more sum up the feature list of the model.

A number of performance improvements are made to the new GT4 RS. First and foremost, it is slightly lighter with a kerb weight of 1,415 kg. On the bonnet and front wings, fiber-reinforced plastic was used to achieve this. In order to increase airflow, the rear windscreen was also replaced and is new. It is also lighter than the one that came with the standard GT4.

The front disc brakes on the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS measure 408mm, while the rear discs measure 380mm. The sports car comes fitted with 20-inch forged aluminium wheels. An adjustable front diffuser, new air vents, and a swan-necked rear wing are a few upgrades introduced to the GT4 RS that promises to improve its track performance. In addition, the ride height has been dropped by 30mm compared to the standard 718 Cayman, increasing downforce by 10%. When in track mode, the downforce increases to 60%. The price of the car starts from Rs 2.54 crore but the variant revealed by the company at the event costs around Rs 3.2 crore in India (all prices, ex-showroom). In our market, the sports car is most likely to compete with the McLaren 720S, the AMG GT R, and other track-focused models.
